Angelo Galasso adds a new dimension to menswear, allowing a new breed of men to enjoy a service that merges the tradition of classic tailoring - a tradition, which is steeped in Italian craftsmanship and the creativity of couture houses, reminiscent of a world of exclusive and unique garments, conceived by couturiers with just one client in mind. This is what Angelo calls Tradition in Evolution.

The aesthetic of Angelo Galasso is groundbreaking yet timeless. In 2002, the Financial Times hailed Angelo as “the Da Vinci of shirts”. The Polso Orologio Shirt is a garment that trespasses the boundaries of men’s wardrobes and found a space in the Design Museum in London. An epiphany that brought him to realise that what he created with his shirts could be done with menswear. Each garment relates to collector pieces that will live beyond seasons.

Each man is different and today, even more than before, each man wants to express his individuality in an unprecedented manner. Men are as demanding as women when it comes to their wardrobes.

Uniqueness through craftsmanship and design is the ethos of each Angelo Galasso garment; preserving Italian manufacturing by keeping alive skills that otherwise would have died out and the amboyancy of design that relates to couture ateliers. Angelo Galasso has thus crossed a line by creating a pioneering service that was not available to men before.

The manufacturing of our denim is rooted in the heritage of Genoese artisans, who produce a durable blue fabric, “bordatto ligure”, mainly used for work-wear. Woven to provide sturdiness and easy aftercare, it also guarantees water resistance.

Adhering to the principles of Tradition in Evolution, not only has Angelo Galasso managed to preserve some of the fabric original features, but also to introduce various improvements to satisfy the needs of today’s ever demanding clients.

The rst step is to set indigo dye on the denim using only organic products. Depending on the desired effect, the denim is washed in traditional launderettes and sandblasted to achieve different levels of ageing according to design and style requirements.
The cloth is then laid out on pebbles,
beaten and left to dry. The next step is to deconstruct the denim and rim it with the AG monogrammed edge to ensure fraying does not occur within the inner seams.

Ultimately, the jeans are assembled according to the original sketches and style speci cations before their nal wash.

Each pair of Angelo Galasso jeans is distinctively unique and special, using only the most luxurious materials to add intricate detailing. Silk, crocodile, python and eel skins are among many of the customisation options available.

A supreme result is guaranteed by ensuring that quality control is achieved throughout every step of the manufacturing process. Due to the delicate nature of the materials we strictly recommend using only professional dry-cleaning services.

Angelo Galasso shirt is manufactured entirely by hand, adhering to craftsmanship and knowledge of the Italian artisans. Fabric selection, sewing technique and assembly procedure re ect the time-honoured traditions and highly mastered skills.

Once the fabric has passed quality control,it is pre-shrunk by undergoing a steaming process, thus avoiding excessive shrinkage, and is then laid out ready for the cutting.
The same meticulousness is applied to the accessories, selected according to design,
style requirements and personal speci cations.

The shirt is constructed using a techniquefrom old sewing machines – 10 stitches to the centimetre, as opposed to only 7 stitches of an industrially produced shirt. The penultimate buttonhole is always horizontal, resulting in a streamlined look. The cuff is 12 cm long with the internal lining made of pure cotton, specially strengthened to avoid creasing. To ensure

the collar lies at against the collarbone, the interlinings are glued and four collar stiffeners are sewn in, providing support and creating an utterly crisp nish.

The entire shirt is sewn using the French seam method where the raw edges of the fabric are fully enclosed for a neater appearance.
A tribute to the old tailoring traditions lie
in the slight pleat of the shoulder line – a unique feature of a hand-made shirt. Gussets, triangular pieces of cloth, are sewn on both sides of the shirt, bringing more breadth to its shape and providing the uppermost level of comfort. All the gussets are personalised with the AG monogram, adding an extra touch of luxury to our shirts.

The manufacturing of our shirts is the result of Angelo Galasso’s personal interest and involvement in the art of shirt-making, thorough research and innovative design combined with the years of hard work, passion and inexorable development.
