Black, white and gold in a ramage piazzato print — an ornate, branch-like pattern rendered here in pure silk, which is really the only fabric that could do this particular print justice. The Niki collar keeps the opening relaxed rather than formal, softening what could otherwise be a fairly formal design. Black satin finishes the collar and cuffs, with single stitching worked in by hand rather than machine — a detail that's easy to miss until you're actually holding the shirt. Gold-tone metal buttons close things out, picking up the gold running through the print itself. Silk's natural drape lets the pattern move with the body rather than sitting stiffly the way it might on cotton. Made in Italy. Available at 8–10 Hans Road, Knightsbridge, or through the website.
